Care Instructions

Care Instructions Bespoke To Your Vehicles Services

1. Wash Your Car Regularly

Keeping your car clean is the first step in maintaining the appearance of your PPF. Dirt, dust, and grime can build up on the surface of your PPF over time and make it look dull or discolored. Regular washing with a mild car soap and water can help remove these contaminants and keep your PPF looking its best.

It’s important to note that close contact with high-pressure washers or automatic car washes with brushes can damage the PPF, so it’s best to wash your car by hand or use touch free car washes (linked above). Use a soft microfiber cloth or sponge to gently clean the surface of the PPF.

2. Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Some car cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can damage or discolor PPF. Avoid using products that contain solvents, acids, or abrasive cleaners on your PPF. Stick to products that are specifically designed for use on PPF, or consult with your PPF installer for recommendations.

3. Protect Your PPF from Sunlight

PPF is designed to protect your car’s paint from sunlight, but prolonged exposure to UV rays can damage the film over time. Parking your car in the shade or using a car cover can help protect your PPF from sunlight and prolong its lifespan by 10+ years.

4. Repair Damage Promptly

While PPF is designed to protect your car from damage, it’s not completely indestructible. If your PPF is damaged, it’s important to have it repaired promptly to prevent further damage to your car’s paint. Contact us for repairs, We’ll take care of you!

Paint Protection Film is an excellent investment in the protection of your vehicle’s paint, but it’s important to take care of it properly to keep it looking and functioning its best. By following these tips and best practices, you can help ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your PPF.

1. Wash Your Car Regularly

Keeping your car clean is the first step in maintaining the appearance of your ceramic coating. Dirt, dust, and grime can build up on the surface of the coating over time and degrade the coating. Regular washing with a pH-neutral car soap and water can help remove these contaminants and keep your coating looking its best.

In addition to keeping your coating looking great, regular washing by hand or touch free car washes (linked above) can also help prolong its lifespan. By removing dirt and other contaminants that can degrade the coating over time, you can help ensure that your coating remains effective for years to come.

2.  Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Some car cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can damage or discolor ceramic coatings. Avoid using products that contain solvents, acids, or abrasive cleaners on your coating. Stick to products that are specifically designed for use on ceramic coatings, or consult with your coating installer for recommendations.

By using gentle, ceramic-friendly cleaning products, you can help ensure that your coating remains effective for as long as possible. This, in turn, can help you enjoy the benefits of your coating, such as enhanced shine, hydrophobic properties, and protection against scratches and environmental contaminants.

3. Protect Your Coating from Sunlight

Ceramic coatings are susceptible to fading or discoloration from prolonged exposure to sunlight. Parking your car in the shade or using a car cover can help protect your coating from sunlight and prolong its lifespan.

Protecting your coating from sunlight not only helps keep it looking great but also enhances its protective properties. By preventing fading or discoloration, you can help ensure that your coating continues to protect your car’s paint for years to come.

4. Don’t Use Abrasive Materials

Avoid using abrasive materials on your ceramic coating, such as hard-bristled brushes or scrubbing pads. These materials can scratch the surface of the coating and reduce its effectiveness. Stick to soft microfiber cloths or sponges when cleaning your coating.

By using gentle, non-abrasive cleaning materials, you can help ensure that your coating remains effective and continues to provide the benefits you expect. These benefits can include enhanced shine, hydrophobic properties, and protection against scratches, UV damage, and environmental contaminants.

In conclusion, ceramic coatings are an excellent way to protect your car’s paint and keep it looking like new for years.

1. Avoid Washing Your Car for at Least 48 Hours

After a detail, your vehicle’s paint may be more vulnerable to scratches and swirl marks. To prevent damage to the paint, it’s important to avoid washing your car for at least 48 hours after the detail. This allows the products used during the detail to fully cure and protect the paint.

2. Use Gentle Cleaning Methods

When it’s time to wash your car, it’s important to use gentle cleaning methods to avoid scratching the paint. Use a high-quality, pH-balanced car wash soap and a soft sponge or microfiber mitt to wash your car. Avoid using automatic car washes as the brushes can damage and scratch your paint. A great alternative are touch free car washes (Linked Above).

3. Dry Your Car Thoroughly

After washing your car, it’s important to dry it thoroughly to avoid water spots. Use a soft, clean microfiber towel to dry your car, and be sure to get into all the nooks and crannies to remove any remaining water. Avoid air-drying your car, as this can lead to water spots.

4. Have Us Apply a Ceramic Coating

After a detail, your vehicle’s paint will benefit from an additional layer of long-lasting protection. Applying a ceramic coating can help protect the paint from environmental contaminants, UV damage, and minor scratches for up to several years. Ceramic Coatings bond with the paint to create a durable and hydrophobic layer that repels water and prevents dirt and grime from sticking to the surface. This not only makes your car easier to clean, but it also helps to maintain the shine and gloss of your paint.

4. Avoid Parking in Direct Sunlight

Direct sunlight can cause your vehicle’s paint to fade and become dull over time. To prevent this, try to avoid parking your car in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. If you must park in direct sunlight, consider using a car cover to provide additional protection.

6. Check for Contaminants Regularly

Even after a detail, your vehicle’s paint can still be vulnerable to environmental contaminants such as bird droppings, tree sap, and road tar. These contaminants can damage the paint if left on the surface for too long. Check your car regularly for any contaminants and remove them promptly using a gentle cleaning method.

By following these tips and best practices, you can help keep your vehicle’s paint looking great after a detail. Proper maintenance can help extend the life of the detail and keep your car looking like new for years to come.

Detail sprays are a quick and easy way to clean and protect your vinyl wrap between washes. Look for a detail spray that is safe for use on vinyl and apply it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
